摘要

With continuing reduction in petroleum reserves and everincreasing automobile-caused air pollution,research on clean energy resources for modern automotive engines has been attached great importance in recent years.Biodiesel has been well known as one of the alternative fuels of the like for diesel engine and has received great attention worldwide at the present time.Biodiesel,a complex mixture of fatty monoesters with different chemical structures and molecular weights,contains certain amount of oxygen and has no aromatic compounds and sulfur element in it.With such compositional characteristics,when used as a diesel engine fuel,biodiesel is able to burn completely during engine operation and thereby can give rise to a significant smoke reduction as found in many studies.
