SCG starts commercial production of dissolving pulp on swing line at Thailand mill

Thailand’s leading pulp and paper producer, SCG Paper, has kicked off commercial production of dissolving pulp (DP) on what had been a bleached hardwood kraft (BHK) pulp line at its Nam Phong mill in the country’s northeastern province of Khon Kaen. An SCG spokeswoman said sales of the DP output from the line have been launched. The product is expected to be sold in the domestic market and also overseas, mainly to other Asian countries. This is SCG’s first foray into DP production.
