Stora Enso starts up new BCTMP line at Beihai plant in China to feed site's cartonboard machine

Stora Enso has brought on stream a bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) line at its Beihai mill in China's Guangxi autonomous region. The line will be fully integrated with the facility's sole machine, a 450,000 tonne/yr cartonboard unit (No. 42, p.5). The company gave the BCTMP line's capacity as 200,000 tonnes/yr, while the supplier, Valmet, said it was 650 tonnes/day, which is equivalent to 230,000 tonnes/yr.
