Jeonju Paper to sell Cheongju mill to Paper Corea, may switch Jeonju plant's PM 5 to packaging

Jeonju Paper has agreed to sell its newsprint mill in Cheongju city, Chun-gcheongbuk province, to fellow South Korean producer Paper Corea. The deal, which was inked on January 12, is expected to take effect in early April after getting the all-clear from the country's Fair Trade Commission. The asset sale and an ensuing restructuring of Korea's top two newsprint manufacturers will see a significant cut in the capacity of this grade and result in reduced availability of exports.
