Nine Dragons to cut P&B output by 290,000 tonnes with downtime over Lunar New Year

Nine Dragons Paper (Holdings) plans to take downtime at its mills in Guangdong and Jiangsu province, China. The production halts will take place around the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 28,2017, cutting output by around 290,000 tonnes (see table on page 4). All but one machine at its flagship mill in Dongguan city, Guangdong province, will go offline for three to 20 days alternately from late January to mid-February. The Dongguan facility houses 15 PMs with a combined paper and board capacity of 5.25 million tonnes/yr. The planned downtime will reduce its production by an estimated 174,000 tonnes. Only PM 1, a 200,000 tonne/yr recycled linerboard unit, will keep running over the holiday.
