WALK AWAY from the emotional arguments surrounding laying cages. "You will never win!" That was the advice from market consultant Claude Hart to delegates at the International Egg Commission spring conference in London last week. "Whatever you do, don't put up a public relations campaign or a spokesperson to defend battery eggs. My feeling is that you can never win the emotional argument," he warned. But producers should not lose too much sleep over the issue. They were winning the logical and financial argument according to a survey carried out by Mr Hart.
