Although plastics as we know them today are a relatively recent invention but they have become an important part of modern life.Today,our whole world seems to be wrapped in plastic.Plastics have become an important part of modern life and are used in different sectors of applications like packaging,building materials,consumer products and much more.Almost every product we buy,most of the food we eat and many of the liquids we drink come encased in plastics.Today,the total volume of plastics produced worldwide has surpassed that of steel and continues to increase and without a doubt,we have entered the AGE of Plastics.Demand for materials like plastics is continually growing and will not be abated due to their exotic properties like:low cost,durability,strength,lightweight and flexibility etc.The plastics industry world over includes a large number of production and distribution facilities employing millions workers and contributing economically in a big way.Packaging is the largest market for plastics,accounting for over a third of the consumption of raw plastic materials.
