VIALIS,the Dutch traffic systems manufacturer,is using plastic housings rather than conventional aluminium to produce a new traffic light.Called the ViaLina,it has already won an iF Gold Award for its design."Traffic signal design hasn't changed in 40 years,so the time had come to modernize the appearance of our products," says Hans Dirkze,who heads traffic engineering at Vialis.
