India's first high output twin strand HDPE pipe extrusion line successfully demonstrated by Kabra Extrusiontechnik

IN an Open house demonstration held on the 12th June, 2013 Kabra Extrusiontechnik (KET) showcased a high output twin strand HDPE pipe extrusion line. KET revealed, the "solEX" thar is amongst the latest technology from its joint venture partner battenf eld Cincinnati, which is been first time demonstrated in India. solEX series extruders work on the proven technology from battenfeld - Cincinnati with exclusive features like special screw geometry for HDPE and PP processing, excellent melt homogeneity, high installed screw torques for optimal specific throughput, lower energy consumption. solEX also suitable for HDPE corrugated pipes, special applications like steel pipe coating with HDPE and PP layers. solEX 60 (40:1) has a screw diameter of 60mm with and L/D ratio of 40:1, an extruder with an high output up to 800kgs/hr is first time demonstrated in India. The model on demonstration, extruded small diameter pipes which is the best in its series, as compared to models available in the market. Also the feature of twin strand in HDPE is first time introduced for such high speed and high output line. Being a twin strand the line gives you several plus points when compared to a single strand extrusion. Line delivers simultaneous production of two pipes, with a possibility of 2 different sizes at the same time such a system would facilitate maximum utilization of the extruder capacity and would translate into 6- 7 % of power saving.
