Dow moves ahead on US propylene unit based on shale gas

DOW Chemical has announced that its Board of Directors has authorised capital to finalise detailed engineering and purchase long lead-time equipment for a new, worldscale propylene production facility to be constructed at its Texas site. Dow is looking to increase its ethylene and propylene production in US taking advantage of low-cost feedstock opportunities available from increasing supphes of shale gas.
