Ashland planning to build plant in Gujarat;introduces resin line for Indian composite fabricators

IN a move to solidify its presence in India,US-based Ashland Inc is planning to purchase of 25 acres of land in Jhagadia,Gujarat,in March.The company is planning to build a plant to manufacture resins for the composites and metal casting consumables industries."The site will allow us to accommodate our expansion efforts as we serve our customers in India and elsewhere in the world," said Mr.Mike Swartzlander,Vice President and Managing Director for Ashland India Pvt Ltd.Ashland India is headquartered in Mumbai and administers the sales and marketing operations for Ashland's divisions located in India.In addition,Ashland participates in two Indian joint ventures:Chembond Drewtreat Ltd and Valvoline Cummins Ltd.
