Misinformation by certain sectors of the mass media make it necessary for the industry to correct misunderstandings about the extent to which poultry breeders are involved with transgenic technology. There is much misleading information being published about the application in modern poultry breeding of molecular biology research, and in particular gene manipulation or 'genetic engineering'. Recent publicity in the UK, in the national press and on TV demands that the industry sets the recbrd straight. So concerned were Ross Breeders about this misinformation that they issued a public statement, clarifying the situation for the benefit of their customers and consumers of poultrymeat and eggs.
