Fibre Nutrition

Because of the low nutritive value of fibre and the material associated with it, fibre should be included in poultry rations in limited amounts. Proper feeding of fibre helps main normal structure and function of the gastrointestinal tract. It also helps improve nutrient utilisation and prevent cannibalism. Excess fibre in rations may, however, have negative effects on feed efficiency and body composition.
