Gulf Packaging Industries focusing more on metallised BOPP films

Saudi Arabia’s Gulf Packaging Industries, after adding their third metalliser in February (2012) has sought to focus more on metallised films which carry a higher margin and now account for around 45% of output, currently amounting to 6,000 tonnes per month. The company saw their overall BOPP film production rise by just over a quarter in 2011 to 72,000 tonnes due to a third BOPP film line coming on stream at the Jubail plant in mid- 2010 increasing nameplate capacity to 77,000 tpa.
