According to PCI's latest research, orders were placed and down payments were made for 22 new BOPP film lines in China during 2011, equivalent to a combined annual nameplate capacity of 591,500 tonnes. Gettel Group alone ordered five 8.7m Bruckner lines (35k each) and Times Packaging five 8.2m (30k each) Bruckner lines, having ordered and subsequently cancelled orders for two lines in 2010. In addition, contracts were signed for 15 other equivalent lines of 329,000 tonnes of capacity but have yet to be executed as down payments have not been made.
