Bayer intends to significantly expand its capacities in China by 2016. Investments of around EUR 1 billion are earmarked for five separate projects at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park: For polycarbonate, a new facility is scheduled to be built with a capacity of 200,000 t/y. In addition, it is planned to increase the capacity of the existing plant by 100.000 to 300.000 t/v.
