Turkey's Y ildiz Holding to form new global biscuits and confectionery group 'pladis'

Turkish food group Yildiz Holding is forming a new global biscuits and confectionery group called 'pladis' through the amalgamation of its core biscuit, chocolate and confectionery business. The businesses being combined, uniting well known brands Godiva, McVitie's and Ulker, are Godiva Chocolatier, United Biscuits, Ulker and DeMets Candy Company. Together the companies create a $5.2 billion business, positioning 'pladis' as a global leader in the category.
