摘要

Soil is a vital natural resource currently without comprehensive biochemical standards of quality. Soil enzymes have been suggested as potential indicators of soil quality because of their relation to soil organic matter, ease of measurement, and rapid response to changes in soil management. The purpose of investigation was the assessment of relationships between specific cellulose-, sucrose- and lignin-degrading enzymes activities and the contents of two fraction of organic matter in Luvisol loamy sand soil. Criteria for choosing enzyme assays were also based on our previous experience with their sensitivity to field management and simplicity of the assay. The measurement of activities of lignin-degrading enzymes peroxidase and polyphenoloxidase were proposed as most appropriate biochemical indicators in soil quality because their close correlation with stable fraction of SOM.
