Consumer demand for user-friendly plastic food packaging is driving rapid market growth for Basell's polybutene-1-based materials which are being used by Basell's customers in easy-peel film systems.This simple polymer sealing system is well-known by film converters and improves the handling of food packging by providing an easy and controlled opening action.Further development of this easy-open technology is extending the range of packaging applications into which it can be applied.Potential applications using this technology are presented and discussed.
