Italian trade partner Alternative 1999 acquired / Latest in a string of buys to boost global footprint

German protective film producer Storopack (Metzingen; www. storopack.com) has acquired its long-term Italian distribution partner Alternative 1999 (Cento / Italy; www.storopack.it). Financial details of the retroactive deal - which took effect on 1 January 2015 - were not disclosed. The acquisition will give the German company its own subsidiary in Italy, thereby improving its access to clients. Alternative 1999 will be rebranded as Storopack Italia in the coming weeks. Founder and majority shareholder Andrea Salustro will oversee the integration and remain responsible for the group's activities in Italy, Storopack said.
