Russia March 2013: Notations mostly point down in final month of Q1 / LDPE proves the exception as film season gets underway/ PVC and PET prices treading water / Mixed start to the second quarter

"Downhill" best describes Russian polymer movement at the end of Ql. The only exception was LDPE with notations gaining 1.4% in rubles, or EUR 28/t over February. Domestic PVC and PET prices also stood firm. Though the Russian currency continued to make gains, conversion still resulted in deviations in euro prices, where the losses were limited to HDPE blow moulding grades, PP, HIPS and imported PET - all other grades actually posted gains in euro terms.
