The global thermoformed plastics market is estimated to reach 3.2m t this year and expected to grow at a 4% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to 2017 when it will reach 3.9m t, a new study by market researcher BCC Research (Wellesley, Massachusetts / USA; www.bccresearch.com) predicts. The packaging sector is expected to be the main growth driver, BCC says in its "Thermoformed Plastics: Technologies and Global Markets" study. The sector, which is expected to account for 2.2m t of the global thermoforming market this year, is forecast to reach more than 2.7m by 2017.
