Tightness of primary market spills over into secondary sector/Regrind prices rise across the entireboard

The growing tightness of virgin polymer spilled over into the German secondary market in Marchand April, leaving buyers scrambling. Among the standard thermoplastics, prices for rPP and rPSmoved up strongly, and rPE also could not buck the trend. Notations for engineering thermoplasticsregrind rose across the board, with rPA surging forward by about EUR 150/t. There are no signs thatthe trend will peak soon, as seasonal demand gears up. Polymer is short everywhere. In regrind, thetightness is most evident in production scrap, where delivery times have lengthened significantly.
