摘要

When Renault purchased a 36.6% equity in then financially-troubled Nissan, it appointed French executive Carlos Ghosn to lead a turnaround. In the January 2002 Harvard Business Review, Ghosn says that the needed to cut costs by 20%, and this strategy for achieving one-third of this was to modify enginering specifications which were stricter at Nissan than at other companies.
