A new line of high-specific-gravity compounds from GE Plastics/LNP Specialty Compounds,Exton,Pa.,are intended for lead replacement in radiation shielding.Thermocomp HSG compounds of nylon 6 highly filled with tungsten metal are said to deliver x-ray and other radiation shielding equal to lead.The compounds range in specific gravity from 2 to 11.
