Proctor & Gamble Co.,Cincinnati,has licensed its proprietary computer simulation software for plastic bottles to Stress Engineering Services Inc.,a package engineering consulting firm in Mason,Ohio.P&G's Virtual Package Simulation is based on software from Abaqus Inc.,Providence,R.I.,to predict bottle performance.The software simulates extrusion blow molding of HDPE and PP containers.Customized,automated finite-element analysis helps designers identify where bottles can be made lighter and stronger.
