Two New Modifiers for PP Fibers

A pair of specialty modifiers for PP fibers and nonwo-vens are available from Ciba Specialty Chemicals,Tar-rytown,N.Y.Irgasurf HL 560 is a hydrophilic additive that gives PP fibers a long-lasting wettable effect.It makes PP nonwovens absorb up to eight times their weight of water.It also adds antistatic properties,reduces friction,and increases the softness and com-fort of diapers,adult incontinence pads,and femi-nine care products.
