World's Tiniest Blown Film Line

Labtech Engineering from Thailand (which has several U.S. distributors) displayed at NPE2012 what it says is the world's smallest, fully functional blown film line, equipped with a horizontal extruder. Called the Ultra Micro Film line, the system features an 8-mm, 30:1 L/D extruder with a conical screw that reportedly can accommodate larger pellets than other tiny lab extruders (though still smaller than conventional pellets). The die is an unusual combination of spiral and spider design with a die-lip diam. of 20 mm. The 150-mm wide film tower can produce lay-flats up 90 mm.
