Chilean power generator Eléctrica Guacolda has launched a tender for 200,000-225,000 mt of sub-bituminous steam coal on an FOB basis for delivery throughout 2011. Guacolda said it requires three to four shipments of minimum 4,000 kcal/kg GAR material to be loaded between the second half of February and December 2011. Other specifications are minimum 29% volatile content, 0.8% sulfur, 20% ash, and 28% moisture. The generator said it would declare the size of shipments, between Handymax and Panamax, at the close of business and welcomes offers for all or partial tonnage.
