Newcastle port's coal exports hit an eight-week high at 2.5 million mt shipped in 27 vessels in the seven-day period ended 0700 Australian Eastern Standard Time August 1, a level last reached by Newcastle in the week to June 6 when 31 ships loaded 2.5 million mt of coal at the Australian port, said Newcastle Port Corp in an August 1 update.
