Spot Asian coking coal resilient despite low demand

Asian spot coking coal was still subject to downward pressure Wednesday because of weak steel market conditions reported by mills in China and India, but this was largely offset by relatively tight supply. Australian export prices remained unmoved for the third day Wednesday at $202/mt FOB Hay Point for 64% CSR, 25.5% VM material. The Chinese import price declined by another $1 to $203/mt CFR North China.
