Komipo solicits spot and term contracts for october shipping

Korea Midland Power (Komipo) has launched a tender for spot and term contracts for up to 1.98 million mt of bituminous and sub-bituminous coal. Komipo has called for bids for a two-year contract of coal involving 520,000 mt annually for October 2011-September 2013 shipping. It requires 5,700 kcal/kg NAR coal, with 15% total moisture, 22-36% volatile matter air dried basis, 17% ash and 1% sulfur. Komipo said the annual price for the contract would be linked to the globalCOAL Newcastle index and only capesize offers would be considered.
