Asian linear low density polyethylene prices trekked $15-22.50/mt higher on the week in the Far East and India, but receded in Southeast Asia as demand and trade liquidity dwindled toward year’s end. Gains in the Far East trailed increases of Yuan 300/mt in Chinese domestic prices to Yuan 11,400-11,500/mt ($1,340-1,351/mt). May futures on the Dalian Commodity Exchange rose Yuan 285/lot on the day to close at Yuan 12,125/lot Wednesday, accumulating Yuan 345/lot from last week. China’s LLDPE imports surged 105% on the year to 175,721 mt in November, and were up 1.6% compared with October, customs data showed.
