China to clamp down on domestic coal industry, pricing: report

China is restructuring its domestic coal industry around 13 large-scale 'coal-power bases' each producing at least 100 million mt/year of coal for Chinese power generators as part of a long-term strategy to exert "tighter control on coal prices and optimize the production structure of the indus- try," according to a report released by Stanford University's Program on Energy and Sustainable Development.
