EDC: The Northwest European EDC market was largely captive for December, sources said, as producers began destocking ahead of the Christmas holiday period. “We have enough chlorine to be making our own EDC and there is no demand to sell to downstream producers either,” a producer commented. Notional spot values remained unchanged at $340-350/mt FOB NWE. Meanwhile, Q1 contract price negotiations were continuing this week in the NWE caustic soda market, with producers continuing to seek increases between Eur50-80/mt.
