European polyethylene terephthalate producers were looking to pass through larger February increases for contract customers who settled January CPs in the first half of the month, sources said this week. Producers had succeeded in passing through between Eur50-90/mt for NWE PET January CPs over January, with the higher increases coming during the second half of the month amid higher settling feedstock costs. “February contract prices will have to be compensated depending on the January level,” a producer said. “I would say it still depends on the raw materials and how they settle, but my idea would be for a Eur30-40/mt increase on top of the raw material movement.”
