European LDPE spot prices firmed in the course of the week as offers for September strengthened on improved buying interest, sources said. Replacement product offers from producers to traders surged to Eur1,260-1,280/mt ($1,626/mt) FCA NWE, which forced some traders to start trialling offers to converters at Eur1,300/mt FD NWE and above. The market had yet to respond fully to these new offers and some lower numbers were still present in the market leaving prevailing spot prices at Eur1,250-1,255/mt FD NWE level this week, sources said. Meanwhile export economics continued to improve with net- back from Latin America particularly healthy, sources said, reporting sales at around $1,800/mt CFR Peru and CFR Ecuador levels.
