The US ACN price remained near $1,900/mt this week despite an apparent open arbitrage opportunity to Asia. During the past week, sources said they’d expect product to be moving to Asia, with the Far East ACN price near $2,070/mt — $170 over the current US price. European prices rebounded last week, climbing $60 to $1,905/mt CIF Med, basically on par with the US price. “There are some prices out there right now that are outliers,” an ACN buyer said this week. “But the average price still seems to be in the $1,900/mt range. There are offers out there as high as $2,200/mt — but they’ve been at that level for months.
