NEA: The CFR Northeast Asia closed this week at $919/mt, up $13/mt from Thursday and this marked a $18/mt rise from the previous week. The market sentiment was firmer this week as healthy demand from Taiwan amid Formosa’s steam cracker shutdown as well as from South Korea for polyethylene production. But buying indications did not increase from $900/mt CFR Taiwan and South Korea as some end-users — especially in Taiwan — decided to take a wait- and-see stance, awaiting additional spot offers from the Middle East, such as Iran.
