Prices discussions on contracts were this week heard either side of plus Eur40/mt ($49/mt) FD in the north of Europe and either side of plus Eur10/mt in Iberia. But, many buyers were still resistant to the upward movement, dismissing seller arguments that material was short and demand was strong as overblown. A consensus had not yet emerged on where contracts would fall in the north with some evidence of a “take it or leave it” stance at plus Eur50/mt still heard in both commodity and specialty grade markets against a backdrop of agreements between plus Eur30-35/mt FD elsewhere.
