PX: The Asian paraxylene market was strong for most of the week on a healthy buying appetite sparked by a persisting bull-run in western crude oil futures and a strong purified terephthalic acid market. Prices basis FOB Korea and CFR Taiwan/China ended the week $5/mt higher than Thursday. On a week-on-week basis, prices rose $34/mt FOB Korea and $26/mt CFR Taiwan/China. Spot buying appetite was particularly strong Tuesday and Wednesday, as crude oil futures hovered at 18-month highs.
