NEA: The Northeast Asian ethylene market was range-bound and prices ticked down $2/mt on the week, as the market found support amid rising speculations of naphtha-fed steam cracker run cuts. The deal done level heard this week was similar to last week at $930/mt CFR China. Offers for July arrival were also unchanged at $950/mt CFR NEA this week. Market sources said NEA cracker operators would likely reduce runs from the middle of July, which will likely tighten the region’s demand-and-supply situation from the second-half of July. However, the possibility of run cuts was not able to lift the NEA ethylene market this week, as the news was offset by bearish spot ethylene demand.
