European low density polyethylene prices dragged lower this week amid thin buying activity, sources said. Product from Qatar was heard offered at Eur1,370-1,390/mt FD NWE; other European traders and distributor offers were at Eur1,390-1,440/mt FD NWE. Prices were assessed Eur10/mt down on the week at Eur1,385-1,390/mt FD NWE. "We get a feeling more converters have switched off their machines this year than last year," one trader noted; while a converter observed: "Spot sellers have become much more active in sending unsolicited offers since end of March."
