European spot prices posted a marginal uptick Wednesday as lower end offers started to fade away, sources said. The presence of imports was less overwhelming, while stocks at European producers appeared more under control, traders noted. Some trading sources expected to see a further boost in prices, hoping for better demand and less length in supply, as more European producers appeared to be exploring export opportunities. Spot values in injection and blowmolding increased to Eur1,020-1,025/mt FD NWE. Some higher offers at Eur1,050/mt had so far not generated buy interest, sources said. Film grade remained the most reluctant to recover with fundamentals still exposed to bearish pressures from Eastern Europe. Despite this, spot film prices have inched up to Eur980-985/mt FD NWE.
