The spot export price for LDPE was assessed down 1 cent/lb 69-70 cents/lb FAS Houston on weak demand. There were no deals heard, however, as producers had little product to sell. Westlake was heard to have LDPE available in the mid-70's cents/lb FAS Houston but that price was too high. With domestic prices in the mid-to- high 80's producers had got much better profit from the local market than for exports where they would have to cut offers under 70 cents/lb in railcars to make anything work. Traders, instead of looking in the US, sought LDPE from other regions where LDPE was more plentiful.
