Northwest European monthly contract prices remained flat to last week’s level in low density polyethylene this week at Eur1,040-1,050/mt FD NWE. Most sources said they had completed contract price settlements in the assessed range with the majority of producers having closed order books earlier in the month, and consideration was now being aimed around January expectations. An increasing number of buyers voiced acceptance for an expected uptick in January prices since some direction was now evident in the market as to what cost pushes may be expected from producers in January following the settlement of the January feedstock ethylene monthly contract price.
