LDPE assessments went down this week as Asia was stillputting pressure on Latin producers to reduce offers prices forJune. Brazilian Braskem reported LDPE offers to AndeanCountries with a reduction of $50/mt for June. After thedecrease, Brazilian LDPE offers were heard at $1,870/mt CFR.Even though the Brazilian offer was higher than Asia, a sourceat Braskem said probably the customers were going to acceptthe price because of shorter delivery and due to the fact theiravailability was going to still be restricted. “Delivery fromBrazil to Andean Countries was 20-25 days against 40 or morefor the material coming from Asia.” said the company’ssource.
