The US spot price was down slightly more than a cent weekon week Friday as variable costs slid lower for the majorityof the week, but rose Friday — causing spot styrene to alsorebound Friday from Thursday. Styrene was assessed Mondayat 56.25 cents/lb on lower feedstock benzene prices. Benzenedropped more than 10 cents/gal Tuesday while ethylene losthalf a cent, subsequently pushing spot prices down to justabove 54.5 cents/lb.
