NWE PX fell by a marginal $3.50/mt this week as the market remained quiet. On Monday a trader said December activity was “all focused on exports”, pegging the value “around $1,050/mt, give or take”. However, by Friday a bid of $960/mt FOB R’dam, 1kt, any Jan was heard, contrasting to a Tuesday offer $110/mt higher at $1,070/mt FOB R’dam, Dec. Market sources described the bid level as unrealistic, with Europe expected to remain firm in the face of escalating Asian values.
