EDC: European EDC price was assessed flat this week as noactivity was reported. A source not currently in the marketsaid “I am not aware of any activity going on at this time. Istill have not book any sales for June.” EDC availability inEuropean had been limited in May owing to the plannedmaintenance at Dow’s 1.585 million mt/yr chlorine plant inStade, Germany. The plant was expected to restart duringthe first half of June. In upstream news, inland ethylenespot prices dropped over the past week following theEur45/mt fall in June contract price. Spot prices lostEur35/mt, closing Wednesday at Eur1,080-1,085/mt.
